A 52-year-old Warsaw man is dead after being hit by a train Sunday.
The Warsaw Police Department responded to a call about a pedestrian-train accident at 8:53 p.m. on the north-south Norfolk Southern railroad tracks, where officers found a body under a train.
The man, later identified as Freddy G. Shell, was found under the train in the area behind the Pizza Hut Restaurant on North Detroit Street, Warsaw.
Statements from train personnel indicated that Shell may have been lying on the east rail of the tracks before he was hit.
Results of toxicology reports are not available at this time, and the incident remains under investigation by the Warsaw Police Department.
