A 58-year-old Warsaw man was attacked and robbed in his west side Warsaw home Saturday evening.
Rickie E. Olinger, of Tippecanoe Drive, was alone at home when a tall black male came to his door, asking for water. After entering the apartment, the black suspect allegedly displayed a handgun, attacked him physically, punching and choking him.
Removed from the home were two .357 Smith and Wesson and one .357 Ruger revolvers, and an undisclosed amount of silver and gold coins.
The suspect left on foot from the apartment complex, and it is suspected he possibly got into a green vehicle, which left the scene westbound on Old 30.
The victim was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital and treated for head injuries, and later released.
Warsaw police and detectives responded. Some articles from the home were recovered along Old 30 near the City County Athletic Complex within 10 minutes of the attack.
At this time, police have no named suspects, and continue to investigate. Any information on this incident should be directed to the Warsaw PD Detective Division at 574-372-9540, 574-372-9535 or Central Dispatch at 574-372-9511.
