A 28-year-old Warsaw man is being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a Class A felony charge of child molesting.
Thomas Brent Wagoner of 1517 Dot St. is accused of deviant conduct with a 9-year-old girl. The matter was reported to police Oct. 3, shortly after the incident allegedly occurred at Wagoner's residence.
He was booked into KCJ at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday and is being held in lieu of $20,000 bond.
Because of the child's age and the act that occurred, the prosecutor's office opted to file the offense as a Class A felony (which is punishable by 20 to 50 years in prison), according to Warsaw Police Department Detective Paul Schmitt, who also serves as a liaison with the prosecutor's office.
