Warsaw Man Facing Child Molesting, Rape ChargesA Warsaw man is facing child molesting and rape charges after allegedly molesting a girl several times.

Joshua Anthony Adamson, 38, of 428 W. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw, is charged two counts of child molesting,  Level 1 felonies; rape, a Level 3 felony; and two counts of intimidation, Level 6 felonies.

Adamson was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 4:50 p.m. Monday on a $10,250 preliminary bond.

According to the probable cause affidavit, at approximately 11:41 a.m. Monday, a Warsaw Police Department officer was notified by Central Dispatch of a caller saying her child was molested by Adamson.

The caller agreed to go to WPD, where she spoke with an officer in an interview room. The woman told the officer the victim said Adamson molested her multiple times. She also said the victim said Adamson told the victim if she told anyone about it, he would kill the woman and then kill the victim.

On Monday, a forensic interview of the victim was conducted at Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center. The victim said Adamson molested her on four different occasions, including one time outside of Kosciusko County.

The victim said she was molested between January and November 2012 at an apartment on Fort Wayne Street. The victim said she was asleep and Adamson was playing a game in another room. The victim said Adamson removed her clothes and inappropriately touched her, according to court documents.

After the incident, the victim said Adamson threatened her.

The victim said the last time she was sexually assaulted was in May 2021. The victim said when Adamson entered the room, he told the victim to hang up the phone. Adamson forced himself on her. The victim said no, according to court documents, and tried to push him away, but he allegedly wouldn’t stop. The victim also said Adamson threatened to tell someone about what was going on with her long-distance boyfriend. She told Adamson to tell someone and she would tell that person about him molesting her in the past, according to court documents.

The victim said, after Adamson left her room she called her boyfriend back and he asked if she was OK and she told her boyfriend what had happened, as well as the past incidents. The victim said she made her boyfriend promise not to report it because she was fearful of Adamson. The victim typed a digital note detailing past abuse and the incident that occurred in May 2021. Investigators located the note date stamped May 8, 2021, in the victim’s phone during a forensic download.

The victim said she didn’t feel safe telling the woman until Jan. 31. The victim reported being afraid Adamson would hurt the woman because he had previously been to prison, according to court documents. Investigators verified Adamson was convicted in  Grant Superior Court II for domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor; and intimidation, a Class D felony; on Nov. 5, 2012. As part of a written plea agreement in that case, pointing a loaded firearm, a Class D felony; criminal confinement, a Class B felony; and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felony, a Class B felony; were dismissed.

While speaking with police, Adamson denied ever touching the victim and denied ever walking in on the victim while on a video chat with her boyfriend. Adamson allegedly said he suffered from erectile disfunction and lost his sex drive about eight years ago, according to court documents.

Adamson was previously convicted of robbery, a Class C felony in Grant Superior Court II on Oct. 25, 2004. He was convicted of recklessness (deadly weapon), a Class D felony, in Grant Superior Court II on Aug. 15, 2006. He was also convicted of intimidation, a Class D felony, in Grant Superior Court II on Nov. 5, 2012.
