A Warsaw man is being held on a $100,000 bond on charges of rape and criminal confinement.
Joshua Julian Surface, 34, of 416 Perry St., Warsaw, was initially booked into Kosciusko County Jail on a charge of battery June 18.
He later was booked on rape and criminal confinement charges after he allegedly assaulted a woman. Surface became upset with the woman after he believed she was having sexual relations with other men.
The woman claimed she was bound, beaten and raped by Surface at his home.
Surface then allegedly threatened to kill the woman and her family, according to court documents.
A not-guilty plea was entered for Surface, and a request for a public defender was entered, according to court documents.
Surface still is booked in the county jail and next will face a pre-trail hearing Aug. 23 at 9:30 a.m.
