Warsaw Man Faces Drug Charge

A Warsaw man was arrested Monday after he reportedly was found in possession of drugs at Pike Lake Beach Park.

Jose Jesus Ramirez, 19, of 6192 E. CR 200N, Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail around 2:47 p.m Monday on one count of dealing cocaine/narcotic drugs. His bond was set at $20,000.

According to the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, undercover officers reportedly saw Ramirez with a large bag of a white powdery substance at Pike Lake Beach Monday. After detaining Ramirez, police learned the white powdery substance was cocaine.

Ramirez had been under surveillance by the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force for several weeks and more charges for dealing cocaine are expected to be filed against him.

More arrests related to this incident are expected. Information about two other suspects has been forwarded to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Department, and charges for dealing cocaine are expected. The two suspects also allegedly sold cocaine to an undercover officer at a city beach.

According to the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, the incidents are part of an ongoing effort to keep area parks clean from drugs and illegal activity. Drug Task Force officers and Warsaw police officers will continue undercover surveillance of the parks.
