A Warsaw man was arrested for driving while intoxicated early Saturday morning.
Darrin William Teeple, 27, of 322 S. Columbia St., was booked into Kosciusko County Jail early Saturday morning after disregarding a stop light - in front of the Justice Building.
According to a police report, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Deputy Travis Shively was walking into the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office when he observed a white mini-van disregard a flashing red light and almost striking another vehicle as it was headed westbound on Main Street at the intersection with Lake Street.
The vehicle continued past Shively - and the entrance to the Kosciusko County Jail - on Main Street as Teeple reportedly yelled "get outta the way" at Shively.
Shively returned to his vehicle and eventually stopped Teeple near his residence on Columbia Street.
Teeple admitted to having at least one alcoholic beverage, the police report states.
Results of blood alcohol content testing was unavalable.
Police said there was an open cooler containing several cans of beer - including two empties - in the car.
Teeple also was driving on a suspended license, police reports indicate.
After Teeple was detained, Winona Lake Police K-9 Officer Joe Bumbaugh and his dog did a sweep of the car, and the dog indicated the possible presence of illegal narcotics in the van.
The van was searched and police found a plastic bag filled with a white powder substance. It was not determined what the powder substance was at the scene.
