Alcohol was a factor in a single-car collision in Elkhart County Sunday that critically injured a Warsaw man.
William D. Jordan, 35, of West CR 100S, is in critical condition in the intensive care unit of Elkhart General Hospital following the accident at 5:08 a.m. Sunday on Ind. 15, a mile north of Milford.
Police said Jordan was driving north on Ind. 15 when his car left the east side of the road, struck a culvert and overturned. He was originally taken to Goshen General Hospital and later transported to Elkhart General because of the severity of his head injuries.
At the hospital Jordan was found to have a blood alcohol level of .10 percent, police said. He also was driving with a suspended license, but was not arrested because of his injuries.
