Posted
A Warsaw man has been arrested by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department following an investigation of allegations of child molesting.
Michael R. Long, 35, of 24411 W. CR 250S, lot 125, Warsaw, is charged with a class C felony count of child molesting and a class D felony count of sexual battery.
KCSD was contacted in December in regards to a 13-year-old boy having sexual intercourse with an 11-year-old girl. When the complainant called Michael Long about the incident, Long stated he had spoke with the mother of the girl and the mother was putting the 11-year-old on birth control. While on the phone, the 13 year old was heard making a comment that Long “was doing it, too,” according to police.
When the investigator spoke with the girl, now 12, she stated she had been sending nude photos to the 13-year-old, who had shown them to Michael Long. During the interview, the girl described how Long would wrestle with her by getting on top of her and poke her all over with her fingers, according to the probable cause affidavit.
The affidavit continued that the girl stated Long would hold her down and touch her inappropriately, making her feel uncomfortable. This touching occurred approximately 10 times between March 2012 and Feburary 2013, the girl told the investigator.
Long admitted to the wrestling when asked by the investigator.
Long is being held at the Kosciusko County Jail on charges of felony child molesting, fondling or touching a child under the age of 14, and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
Information will be forwarded to the probation office and prosecutor’s office for further review. The Department of Child Services may also weigh in, according to First Segeant Chad Hill, Kosicusko County Sheriff’s Department public information officer.
