Warsaw Man Charged after Alleged Strangulation

Posted
A Warsaw man was arrested yesterday following a domestic dispute with his live-in girlfriend.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, Warsaw Police Department officers met with the victim on Nov. 14 who advised her boyfriend – identified as Eric Sasso, 21, Warsaw – had grabbed her by the hair and repeatedly hit his head into hers. She advised he then threw her into the wall and onto the couch, where he placed his hands around her throat and began choking her.
The victim then told police that Sasso went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and threatened to kill her with it, asking her if she was “ready to die.”
Sasso made threats to the victim’s family and then began stabbing the walls with the knife and throwing the knife into the walls, threatening to kill himself in front of her, according to the affidavit.
Officers arrived at the residence shortly after but Sasso prohibited the victim from answering the door, telling her if she pressed charges against him he would kill her and her family.
Sasso was subsequently arrested and charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, strangulation and domestic battery and held on a $250,000 bond.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Sasso is a repeat offender.
