Posted
Burns sustained by a Warsaw man  Wednesday morning were the result of a meth lab explosion, Kosciusko County officers determined.
With the assistance of Kosciusko County Drug Task Force and Warsaw City drug officers, authorities have located the scene of what appears to be a meth lab explosion. D.T.F. officers found evidence of a one-pot methampetamine lab which apprently exploded, as well as other meth related items and precursors.
Detectives were given information Wednesday evening that led them to an undisclosed location near Armstrong Road and CR 675E, in an area west of North Webster.
Toby D. Jackson, 31, of Warsaw, initially told officers he was burning trash with gasoline when it exploded. Jackson was flown to the St. Joseph Regional Burn Unit in Fort Wayne where he remains in critical condition with second- and third-degree burns to his arms, neck and hands.
Authorities report that potential meth-related charges are being forwarded to the Kosciusko County Presecutor’s Office for review.
