A Warsaw man was arrested Wednesday afternoon for allegedly dealing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school.
On Wednesday afternoon, Warsaw police received a tip that Jason L. Finch, 39, was at home at 106 Boydston St., on the south side of Warsaw.
Warsaw police went to the residence to serve a warrant and located Finch inside, according to a release from Warsaw Police Department.
Police also located several active meth labs inside the home, and the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab team, which was already in Warsaw, was called to the Boydston address.
The Boydston address is in close proximity to Washington Elementary School and Warsaw Christian School.
On Oct. 5, Warsaw police received information from a local retail store involved in the Meth Watch program that their loss prevention was following a male suspected of purchasing methamphetamine production precursors.
Loss prevention had previously contacted the suspect and at that time, the subject was identified as Finch.
On Oct. 5, Finch was again in the store and purchased lithium batteries at one register and then returned and purchased Coleman fuel.
Before police could arrive, Finch had left. The resulting investigation provided Warsaw police with the location of the precursors and verified who had purchased and possessed them, but Finch could not be located.
A warrant was issued by the Kosciusko County Prosecutors Office for Finch for possession of precursors with intent to manufacture.
Warsaw police were assisted by the Indiana State Police and Warsaw Fire Department.
Additional charges may result as a part of this investigation.
Finch’s bond was set at a total of $101,000 for dealing/delivering/manufacturing meth more than 3 grams, as well as possession of precursors with the intent to manufacture meth.
