Warsaw Man Arrested on Child Molesting Charges

A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly molesting a child under the age of 14.
Matheus Vaz Guimaraes de Oliveira, 29, of 915 Shady Lane, Warsaw, is charged with two counts of child molesting, both level 1 felonies; child molesting, a level 4 felony; and possession of child sex abuse material, a level 6 felony.
He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 8 a.m. Aug. 25. He was released on his own recognizance.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on or about Aug. 14, a Warsaw Police Department detective received a report of alleged child abuse from the Kosciusko County Department of Child Services. The minor disclosed being sexually molested over the past three years by Guimaraes de Oliveira.
On or about Aug. 18, the minor went into Safe Harbor for a forensic interview. They said incidents began when the minor was 11 years old.
The minor indicated they were playing video games in Guimaraes de Oliveira’s room in October 202 and Guimaraes de Oliveira created “challenges” to help the minor remain focused, which resulted in inappropriate touching. They also told police Guimaraes de Oliveira got mad at them for telling him to stop.
The minor said Guimaraes de Oliveira withdrew $300 from an ATM in Warsaw to pay the minor.
Court documents also state Guimaraes de Oliveira requested and received videos of the minor in November 2024. Details on what the videos depicted are redacted.
