A Warsaw bicycle officer found a methamphetamine lab and made an arrest Monday near Pine Street.
Around 4 p.m. Monday, the patrol officer smelled a strong chemical odor normally associated with the production of methamphetamine near a residence at 115 Pine St., Warsaw.
When the officer approached the residence, Jacob Ray Kizer, 41, had just left the garage area of the home.
Then the officer reportedly saw several one-pot meth labs as well as several items associated with manufacturing methamphetamine.
The officer immediately contacted the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force, and the drug task force arrested Kizer.
Kizer was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for felony possession of methamphetamine and felony manufacturing methamphetamine. He is being held on $10,000 bond.
Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers reportedly found meth labs in production as well as finished product. The Indiana State Police lab team was called to dismantle the labs and dispose of hazardous materials.Warsaw Police Chief Scott Whitaker said that this was an excellent example of the usefulness of the bicycle patrol unit deployed by the department.
