Wednesday afternoon Warsaw Police Department officers were called to an East Fort Wayne Street residence twice for the same subject.
WPD officers arrested Corey Morgan, 20, of 504 E. Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw, for battery and intimidation resulting from incidents with his mother and grandmother.
Warsaw Police Department Public Information Officer Kip Shuter said that the incident began at 3:55 p.m. when Morgan’s grandmother called WPD reporting that she had been battered by Morgan. Shuter said that the incident resulted from an argument about Morgan using all of the gas in the vehicle. Morgan allegedly began cursing at his grandmother and she hit him for cursing at her. At that point Morgan attacked his grandmother and beat her head against a wall.
Officers responded to the incident and did not arrest him. After the incident officers were seeking a warrant on the battery charges when they were called back to the residence in reference to intimidation at 7:11 p.m.
When WPD officers left Morgan after the battery incident, Morgan threw the coffee table in the home and told his mother that he should have killed her, his grandmother and the police officer that responded to the incident, Shuter said. Morgan allegedly said that he should have killed his grandmother and mother while they were sleeping. Additionally Morgan threatened to kill the officer by using his pen to stab him and stealing his gun to shoot him.
When Morgan was located he was taken to WPD for an interview. During the interview Shuter said that Morgan admitted to the threats and wrote an apology to all those involved.
As of press time Morgan is incarcerated the Kosciusko County Jail without bond.
