A 22-year-old Warsaw man was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Sunday on a charge of sexual misconduct after allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl.
Korey Eugene Newton of Island Drive is being held without bond at the jail.
The incident was reported at 5:21 p.m. Sunday to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department by a friend of the Leesburg teen. When the call came in, the complainant said that the man was sitting in his car parked outside her residence. Police responded and took Newton into custody.
The alleged rape occurred about 2 a.m. Sunday at a North Webster area residence.
