Warsaw Library Offers Concert

Posted
It's National Library Week, a time to celebrate the contributions of libraries, librarians and library workers in schools, campuses and communities nationwide - and the perfect time to discover how to join the circle of knowledge at the library.

The Warsaw Community Public Library is celebrating National Library Week by sponsoring a Celebration of Music event April 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. Featuring pianist Karen Delaney of Ferratt & Delaney, violinist Rebecca Benjamin, and Bethany Jones' Suzuki piano students. In addition, there is a gigantic book sale on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A special promotion is going on where persons can fill a bag for $1. Circulation also will be passing out bookmarks and specialty bags for holding checked-out items."Everyday, libraries in big cities and small towns, colleges and universities, in schools and in businesses help transform their communities," said Ann Zydek, director. "At our library, people of all backgrounds can come together for community meetings, lectures and programs, to apply for benefits, to get a job or to find homework help."

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries across the country each April.
