Warsaw Community Schools announced the addition of Brian Lockhart as the high school’s new strength and conditioning coach. Lockhart will assume his role working with coaches and students in mid-November. “I am excited to be tasked with building the Tigers’ strength and conditioning department and look forward to the future accomplishments that come along with implementing such a program,” said Lockhart. “With the support of administrators, KCH and the community, we will create an atmosphere of success for student-athletes and, moving forward, serve as a model for similar programs.” Lockhart grew up in Detroit, Mich., and graduated from the University of Michigan, where he studied psychology and kinesiology. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist with NSCA and has worked as a sport performance coach with USA weightlifting. Lockhart has experience working with athletes spanning from the NCAA and Olympics to college and high school student athletes. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in exercise physiology. This position was made possible through the 10-year partnership between Warsaw Community Schools and Lutheran Health Network/KCH. “We are very excited to have Brian join Warsaw Community Schools as the strength and conditioning coach,” said Dr. David Hoffert, superintendent of WCS. “His knowledge and experience will be a great asset to our athletic teams, coaches and physical education classes. We are thankful to KCH and Lutheran Health Network for providing this opportunity and advancement in our programming.”
