Warsaw Golfers Shoot 149 In NLC Win Over NorthWood, Memorial

NAPPANEE - Warsaw's varsity boys golf team shot under 150 for the second time in three days Thursday, knocking off Northern Lakes Conference foes NorthWood and Elkhart Memorial.

The Tigers shot 149 over nine holes, beating NorthWood by 14 strokes and Memorial by 19 strokes.

Jake Brodhead shot 35 for Warsaw and was match medalist, while Chris Hanson shot a 36 and Ben Brodhead 38.

The wins improved the Tigers to 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the NLC.

"Everybody is playing well, this is our second time in a row breaking 150 and we are very happy," said Tiger coach Ben Barkey. "It's good to see all the kids' hard work paying off."

Warsaw is in action again Saturday in the CMA Invitational.

Thursday in Plymouth

Wawasee's varsity boys golf team competed in a three-way match Thursday and finished second with a 158. Plymouth won with a 154, while Northridge shot 166. Tyler Rondeau and Zach Marshall led Wawasee with 38s. Wawasee is now 10-3 on the season, 2-2 in the NLC, and plays Concord and Elkhart Memorial Tuesday.

Tippecanoe Valley's varsity girls tennis team hosted Southwood Thursday and fell 4-1. The Vikings picked up their lone win at No. 1 doubles with seniors Carli Anglin and Karissa Fields. The Vikings are now 3-9 on the season and 0-3 in the TRC.

Tippecanoe Valley's varsity softball team fell 12-2 in six innings Thursday to host Southwood. The Vikings scored both their runs in the third inning, while Southwood scoered five runs in the third inning to take a 6-2 lead. The loss dropped Valley to 2-15 on the season. The Vikings are in action again tonight at Oak Hill.
