SYRACUSE - In a three-way girls track and field meet in Syracuse Thursday, the Warsaw Lady Tigers dominated Northern Lakes Conference opponents Concord and Wawasee.
Warsaw finished first in 11 of the 16 events, cruising to an 89-43 win over the Concord Lady Minutemen and a commanding 114-18 victory over the host Wawasee Lady Warriors.Concord beat Wawasee 95-37.
With the wins, the Lady Tigers improved to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the NLC.
Warsaw was so dominant that it claimed the the top two spots in five events, the top three places in three events and finished first, second, third and fourth in the 100 hurdles.
Individual winners for the Lady Tigers included Brooke Kline (800), Ashley Erba (1,600), Cendall Ogle (3,200), Elise White (100 hurdles), Kayla Bixler (300 hurdles), Emily Umbaugh (shot put), Lauren Burish (discus), Hannah Kammerer (pole vault) and Ashley Murrell (high jump).
Warsaw's 3,200 relay team of Hannah Cutshall, Beth Plummer, Creigh Ogle and Lilly Fleming also finished first, as did the 1,600 relay team of Kristen Quick, Kelly Wildman, Olivia Coon and Audrey Petro.
Concord took first place in the remaining five events, while Wawasee got second-place finishes from Mallory Rondeau (1,600), Sarah Rozow (pole vault), Darrien Conrad (long jump), and the 400 relay team of Rondeau, Brittany Robinson, Breanna Weisser and Amy Walker.
The Lady Tigers are in action again Saturday in the Turtletown Invitational in Churubusco, and then get back to their NLC schedule Thursday against Plymouth and host Elkhart Memorial.
Wawasee will also compete in Churubusco Saturday, and then return to conference action Thursday in Nappanee against Northridge and the host NorthWood Lady Panthers.
