The Warsaw gymnastics team posted a 94.4-87.825 home win Tuesday over the East Noble Lady Knights.
Warsaw’s Jo Richard and Abby Baum tied for first place in the all-around, scoring 31.65 each.
Richard and Baum each placed first on the uneven bars (8.05), while Richard got first to herself on the beam (8.15) and Baum won for her floor routine (8.95).
Warsaw’s Shannon Winslow also posted a first-place finish, winning the vault competition with a score of 8.55.
The gymnastics team returns to action Tuesday at Homestead.
BOYS BASKETBALL Tuesday in Argos ARGOS— The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team used a strong effort from sophomore Tanner Andrews to get a 51-39 win at Argos Tuesday night. Hitting 10 shots, Andrews scored a game-high 23 points in the win, while Jeffrey Tillman scored 12, Nick Kindig had nine and Jacob Ritchey finished with eight. The win improves Valley to 8-3 going into Friday’s Three Rivers Conference game at home against Rochester. NorthWood’s Morgan Olson proved to be tough for the Lady Vikings to contain, scoring 19 points and grabbing nine rebounds, while Savannah Bley scored another 10 for the 14-1 NorthWood Black Swish. The loss was Valley’s first in six games and leaves the Lady Vikings at 11-3 going into Saturday’s Three Rivers Conference game at Rochester. Tuesday in Columbia City Despite a 29-point effort from junior KiLee Knafel, the Wawasee girls basketball team fell 55-46 at Columbia City Tuesday night. Not making a single two-point bucket, Knafel’s point total came from five three-pointers and going 14 of 16 at the free-throw line. Wawasee’s next highest score was junior Kiley Cooper’s eight. BOYS SWIMMING Tuesday in Akron Hosting the Rochester Zebras Tuesday, the Tippecanoe Valley boys swim team was defeated 122-62. In the team loss, Valley’s 200 medley relay of Brandon Maull, Kenneth Surface, Tommy Alexander and Brody Cook won, as did Surface in the 100 breast.
