Warsaw Fire, Police Looking For Help In Arson Case

Posted
The Warsaw Fire and Police Departments are looking for help in finding information concerning a fire that last week was ruled an arson.

On Sept. 20 around 11:15 p.m., fire crews responded to a blaze in the Lakeview Shopping Center, East Winona Avenue, Warsaw.

The fire caused damage to No Way Jose's Taco Grill, the Michoacan Market, the Paradise Music Store and the Paradise Pawn Shop.

As a result, nearly $1 million in damages were caused by the fire.

It was determined the fire started in the back of the Michoacan Market, which was connected to No Way Jose's by a hallway.

Last week, Warsaw Fire Department Chief Mike Wilson determined the fire to be an arson.

Due to the nature of the arson, Wilson believes whoever set the blaze was near the area when fire crews arrived.

Behind the shopping center is a wooded area then a housing addition on the Warsaw side of Winona Lake.

Currently, there are no suspects in the case.

Wilson encouraged anyone who witnessed anyone suspicious or suspicious activity in or around the area of Lakeview Shopping Center to call him at 574-372-9502, or Det. Steve Adang with the Warsaw Police Department at 574-372-9511.
