SYRACUSE — At Saturday’s Wawasee Invitational, the second-ranked Warsaw boys golf team finished second to Northern Lakes Conference foe NorthWood. On the par-72 South Shore Golf Club course, the 14th-ranked NorthWood Panthers finished with a 305, followed by Warsaw’s 313, Fairfield’s 315, Homestead’s 316 and Chersterton’s 316 in the top five. Wawasee finished eighth with a 334, while Whitko was 13th (358) and Manchester was 14th (390). NorthWood’s Dylan Gessinger was the top golfer, shooting a three-under 69, while Lakeland’s Spencer Mortola shot a 72. For Warsaw, Tim Ahlersmeyer led the way with a 74, followed by Jonny Hollar’s 76, Jon Schram’s 79, Ryan Cultice’s 84 and Evan Cultice’s 84. Ahlersmeyer’s score placed him fourth at the match and Hollar was seventh. Wawasee’s top player was Tristen Atwood, who shot a 78, followed by Luke Jackson’s 84, Dylan Cousins’ 85, Jeffrey Moore’s 87 and Cal Heinisch’s 92. Wawasee also had a second team at the meet, which shot a 362 and was paced by Mason Germonprez’s 83. For Whitko, Daniel Zawlocki led the way with an 84 and Manchester’s top score was a 91, shot by Xzavier Whitaker. Warsaw hosts the Joe Harris Shootout Tuesday at Rozella Ford Golf Club, which Wawasee will be a part of, while Whitko and Manchester are also in action Tuesday, traveling to Wabash’s Honeywell Golf Course to face Northfield.
