Warsaw Finishes Second In Don Dicken Classic

The second-ranked Columbus North boys golf team won the inaugural Don Dicken Classic at Stonehenge Golf Club Saturday.
Shooting a 299, second-ranked Columbus North held off host and 17th-ranked Warsaw, which shot a four-man score of 313.
The Tigers were paced by Will Petro’s 76 on the par-71 course, followed by Ryan Cultice’s 78, Jonny Hollar’s 79, Brandon Eckert’s 80 and Reid Cameron’s 85.
The Triton Trojans were also at the tournament, finishing eighth with a team score of 342.
Warsaw will be in action again Thursday when it hosts Columbia City and Huntington North, while Triton is scheduled to compete in the Marshall County Match Saturday.
In previous years, the 18-hole match was known as the Warsaw Invitational.
The tournament was renamed this year to honor Dicken, a PGA Master Professional who was Rozella Ford’s first pro.
Dicken worked at Rozella Ford from 1961 until his retirement in 1995.
During his 35 years at Rozella Ford, Dicken worked with thousands of local junior golfers.
