Staff Report-
The Warsaw Future Farmers of America Community Appreciation Supper occurred on Nov. 23 with a drive-thru chili supper for a monetary or canned food donation.
The community was very supportive of the Warsaw FFA in the new reiteration of the annual event, according to a news release from Warsaw Community Schools. The FFA chapter was able to collect over 350 canned food items that will be donated to our local food pantries.
The community was also generous in their monetary donations with 50% of donations going to the Warsaw FFA chapter and 50% donated to the Rob Hays Memorial Scholarship fund through the Indiana FFA Foundation. Hays was the current Indiana FFA executive director and was a former agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Warsaw who passed away unexpectedly in September.
Through the event, $1200 was raised for the donation in his memory, according to the news release.
