Warsaw Community Development Corp. discussed prior and upcoming events during Tuesday's meeting.
Events Coordinator Stephanie Salyer said WCDC held a Valentine's Day contest this month. There were 19 downtown businesses that participated in the contest by donating Valentine's Day items for a gift basket. Two Valentine's Day gift baskets were awarded to Lisa Russell and Ron Brown. Brown registered at Service Electric, and Russell registered at Dennie House.
Salyer said the events committee has met and are planning a "Downtown Days" event again this summer for August, with a bicycle and a foot race in Warsaw. The committee also is planning the Lincoln Highway Garage sales for this summer.
WCDC President Cindy Dobbins was absent during the meeting so Vice President Mary Ellen Rudisel-Jordan led the meeting.
Rudisel-Jordan said Dobbins reported dues from individuals and small businesses are coming in on a regular basis. Dobbins sent an information sheet out with dues statements in an effort to obtain information about businesses and building owners.
WCDC will meet again March 18 at 11 a.m. at the organization's office.
