Second-graders from Warsaw Christian visited the Pumpkin Fashion Farm in Ligonier. Besides enjoying a few corn mazes and decorated pumpkins, they did math activities. The students weighed themselves, then they estimated the weight of the pumpkins. They got the actual weight of the pumpkin, and subtracted the difference. They estimated the number of pumpkin seeds, scooped out the seeds and pulp, and put the seeds in groups of 10 so they could count them better. They counted by 10s to get to an actual total.
