The third-grade class at Warsaw Christian recently experienced a little of what it might have been like to grow up in an Amish family at Amish Acres in Nappanee. They took a tractor tour and were able to visit a blacksmith shop, two Amish houses and a one-room school house where they had a spelling bee. They were also able to see apple butter and cider pressing demonstrations. Lunch was served family style in the Century Old Barn Restaurant. At the end of the day, each student picked a pumpkin from the patch that they decorated later.
