A Warsaw boy suffered burns to his face following an accident involving gun powder.

The boy was at a residence on East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, Wednesday morning.

According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department report, the 14-year-old gained access to gun powder and attempted to make a torch with a piece of 4-inch copper tube that was capped on one end.

The boy claimed he put one inch of gun powder in the tube and tried to light the gun powder.

When the powder ignited, it shot out of the tube, striking the boy in the face.

The boy was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital, where he was treated and released for burns.
