Warsaw Beats Valley For Tourney TitleWarsaw’s volleyball team won its Spiker Invitational tournament with a 25-16, 25-13, 25-14 win over Tippecanoe Valley in the championship match at the Tiger Den Saturday. The Lady Tigers advanced to the title tilt with a 25-12, 25-7, 25-7 victory over South Bend Clay. Valley won a thriller in its semininal match 25-17, 21-25, 25-16, 18-25, 15-13 over fellow Three Rivers Conference member Northfield. The tournament closed out the regular season for all four teams. Warsaw (19-13) hosts a 4A sectional and will take on Northern Lakes Conference foe Elkhart Memorial in the first round at 8 p.m. Thursday. Valley finished the regular season with a 20-12 record, its first 20-win season in at least eight years, according to Lady Viking head coach Mallory Eaton. Valley will take on West Noble in the second match of Thursday’s first round of the 3A Fairfield Sectional at about 8 p.m., following the Lakeland vs. Fairfield match at 6 p.m.
