Warsaw Baseball Team Falls To NLC Foe Northridge

Warsaw’s varsity baseball team gave up eight runs in the fourth inning and fell to 16-6 to Northern Lakes Conference leader Northridge Friday.
The Tigers, who were celebrating senior night, fell to 10-10 overall and 7-5 in the NLC.
Kevin Hawley was charged with the loss on the mound for Warsaw.
Brandon Shipp, Josh Frantz and Tyler LaFollette had two hits each for the Tigers, who travel to Carroll for a 10 a.m. doubleheader today.
Austin Moniot earned the win on the mound for Northridge and also went 3 for 4 at the plate with two RBIs and a run.

Friday in South Whitley
Zach Snep went 3 for 4 with an RBI and two stolen bases, leading the Whitko Wildcats to a 5-3 win over county rival Columbia City.
Ethan Nicodemus, Garrett Smiley and Hunter Sroufe all had two hits each for the Wildcats, who are now 16-7 on the season.
Whitko is in action again Monday at North Miami.

Friday in Winamac
Tippecanoe Valley’s varsity softball team fell behind early and went on to lose 7-3 at Winamac Friday.
Winamac scored four runs in the first inning and added two more in the fifth and one in the sixth.
Valley scored two runs in the third and one in the fourth.
Lauren Early had three hits for the Lady Vikings, who are now 4-11 on the season.

With the loss, Warsaw is now 7-12, while Northridge improved to 16-1.
Haley Nixon got the win in the circle, giving up five hits and striking out 11 in seven innings of work.
