According to Indiana Supreme Court documents, Warsaw attorney Larry D. Beeson was recently publicly reprimanded by the courts after notarizing a power of attorney adjustment without a witness. According to court documents, Beeson prepared a power of attorney to change a client’s attorney-in-fact and prepared guardianship consent forms that his client in turn signed. Beeson, however, notarized these signatures and filed it without having had a witness to the signature, though the court recognized the signatures as his client’s without question. Because Beeson had no disciplinary history, was cooperative with the courts, acknowledged his misconduct and accepted responsibility, the court determined his misconduct was not due to a dishonest or selfish motive and Beeson was issued a simple public reprimand.
