Warsaw City Council Monday approved on second reading an ordinance for more than $5 million to be issued in the form of a bond for refunding sewage works bonds from 2003. The ordinance allows for the bond to be sold at a public sale and continues the various funds and accounts of the sewage works to account for the sewage works revenues used to pay the debt service on the outstanding bonds. July 23 is the bonds sale date and there will be a $400,000 to $500,000 savings to taxpayers with the bond, said Jeff Rowe, Umbaugh and Associates. The council approved the continuation of several tax abatements. The council approved continuing a 10-year abatement on personal property for Dalton Corp. Drive, and continuing a three-year tax abatement on real property for Iconacy Orthopedic Implants.
