MARION – Vincennes University sophomore and Warsaw alum Robert Murphy set new VU school records in three events at the Indiana Little State Championships Friday and Saturday, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan. Murphy's school record-setting performances over the weekend were in the steeplechase, 1500 and 5000 meter runs. The efforts earned him Track Athletes of the Championships honors. Murphy claimed the steeplechase with a time of 9:13.88 to outdistance runnerup Joel Keller of the University of Indianapolis. In the 1500, Murphy’s time of 3:52.32 was good enough for second place to Logan Barrett of St. Joseph's. Murphy finished fourth (14:53.56) in the 5000.
