Warriors Wrestling Team Hosts Annual November Classic

SYRACUSE — The Fort Wayne South Side wrestling team nabbed the 2011 Wawasee November Classic Saturday afternoon with a 4-1 mark. On the day, the South Side Archers had two undefeated wrestlers with Austin Vazquez (106) and James Johnson (120) each making it unblemished through the five-team tournament. The Whitko Wildcats finished second, also going 4-1, and getting undefeated days from Colton LeTourneau (126), Cody Bays (152), Cord Feasby (160) and Austin Striggle (195). Wawasee had two undefeated wrestlers, as Chad Eppley (220) and Dimitri Kaplanis (285) helped the hosts finish fifth with a 2-3 mark. The Tippecanoe Valley Vikings also took part in the tournament, finishing 1-4 and having Wyatt Nelson (113) going undefeated. Whitko and Valley are each in action Tuesday, as the Wildcats host North Miami and the Vikings host Wabash. Wawasee’s next match is Thursday at Northridge.
