Warriors Snap Eight-Game Skid, Whip Bruins 65-35

SYRACUSE – Wawasee sophomore Cayden Wegener scored a game-high 17 points, includng 10 in the fourth quarter, and classmate Trevon Coleman added 15 points as  the Warriors snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 65-35 win over Bethany Christian Wednesday night at the Hardwood Tepee.
Tyler Smith had 10 points and Jairus Boyer scored eight in the winning cause.
The Warriors led 17-11 after the first quarter and 34-19 at halftime. Wawasee then outscored the Bruins 21-6 over the final eight minutes.
Seth Brenneman led Bethany Christian with 15 points.
Now 2-11 for the season, Wawasee will try to snap its 32-game Northern Lakes Conference losing streak when it hosts Concord Friday night.
