Warriors Hold On At Winless Goshen; Triton Loses To Jimtown

GOSHEN — Despite tallying 356 total yards, the Wawasee football team got a big scare at winless Goshen Friday night. Holding on to win 17-14, the win improved Wawasee to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the Northern Lakes Conference, while Goshen ended its regular season at 0-9 (0-7 NLC). In the victory, Wawasee’s Brandin McCulloch ran for 95 yards on 24 carries, but the majority of the damage was done through the air. Quarterback Gage Reinhard completed 15 of 29 attempts for 225 yards and two scores. The biggest benefactor of Reinhard’s night was Austin Lutz, who hauled in seven passes for 124 yards and a touchdown, while Jordan Elliott had four catches for 56 yards and Clayton Cook caught two balls for 20 yards and a TD. The Warriors begin Class 4A Sectional 19 at home this Friday against No. 5 Leo. The Triton football team had its regular season come to an end with a 56-0 home loss to Jimtown Friday night. Triton’s regular season ends at 1-8 overall and 0-7 in the Northern State Conference.
