PLYMOUTH – Wawasee was close to victory Friday, only to see it slip away in Plymouth’s last at-bat. The Pilgrims scored four times in the sixth inning to edge the visiting Warriors 4-3 in Northern Lakes Conference play at Bill Nixon Field. Jamie Slabaugh had a single, a double and scored twice for Wawasee. Plymouth also took the junior varsity contest, 13-8. The Warriors (4-16-1, 1-10 NLC) host a non-conference game against potential sectional foe West Noble today.
