SYRACUSE - Wawasee upped its record to 2-0-2 with a 1-0 win over Elkhart Baptist Saturday.
Wawasee is at Huntington on Tuesday for its next match.
Warsaw 1, Bishop Luers 1
Warsaw's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with No. 3 Bishop Luers Saturday morning at the CCAC.
The Tigers had 10 shots on goal compared to nine for Bishop Luers. Phil Hood scored Warsaw's only goal at the 55-minute mark.
Bishop Luers scored its goal 11 minutes into the first half.
"We beat No. 5, lost to No. 11, had an easy win over Riley, lost to a weaker team in Concord and now tied No. 3," Warsaw coach Corey Rose said. "We have to become consistent. We've proved we can play with anybody. We should have won this one - one goal was called back. I will take this tie."
Warsaw defeated Bishop Luers 2-0 in the junior varsity game. Gabe Koser scored with a header off of a corner kick by Matt Lafountain to put the Tigers up 1-0.
Richie Zentz added Warsaw's second goal in the second half as the Tigers improved to 4-1. Warsaw's junior varsity team is at South Bend Clay on Thursday at 5 p.m.
Warsaw, 2-2-1, hosts the Warsaw Invitational at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Girls: Warsaw 2, Plymouth 1
At Plymouth, the Warsaw Tiger girls' varsity soccer team improved its record to 2-1 with a Saturday win over Plymouth.
Warsaw outshot Plymouth 8-1 in the first half, but the Tigers trailed 1-0 as the period ended. Inspired play from team captain Alex Infante helped Warsaw surge into the lead in the second half.
Warsaw dominated Plymouth in the last half, outshooting the Pilgrims 14-0 in the period. Bobbi Wildman scored two solo goals in the last 20 minutes to give Warsaw the win.
The Warsaw Tiger junior varsity team evened its record at 1-1 with a 2-1 win over Plymouth. Strong defensive play, led by Warsaw's Nicki Durand, kept the ball in Plymouth's side of the field for most of the game.
Warsaw outshot Plymouth 13-5, and Tiger goalie Jena Rooney had three saves. Warsaw's scoring all came in the first half, with goals by Andrea Harrold and Tricia Stump.
Warsaw has a 5 p.m. game at Bethany Christian on Tuesday.
VOLLEYBALL
Manchester Goes 1-3
At Logansport, Manchester's volleyball team won one match at Saturday's Logansport Invitational.
Manchester lost to Logansport 15-11, 11-15, 15-10 in the first match. The Squires then lost to Elkhart Memorial 15-10, 15-11 in the second match. They then beat Bloomington South 10-15, 16-14, 15-10 in the third match. They closed the day by losing to Huntington North 15-2, 15-2 in the last match.
Jodie Peden led Manchester with 13 kills, while Jodie Peden had nine blocks. Amanda White had 14 digs, and Erin Groombridge had 16 assists.
Manchester, 3-7, has a 6 p.m. match at Columbia City on Tuesday.
LCA Goes 2-2
In Tournament
At Anderson, the Lakeland Christian Academy volleyball team went 2-2 to take third place in Saturday's Liberty Tournament.
LCA beat Liberty and Living Word for the two wins and lost to Lakeview and Liberty for the two losses. LCA's Laurie Porter and Kelly Custer were named to the All-Tournament team.
LCA beat Kokomo 15-7, 15-7 on Friday. Porter had four hits, while Heather Jones had 12 serves. Janelle Sou had nine points.
LCA's junior varsity team lost to Kokomo 6-15, 15-9, 15-4. Sarah Wobrock had three kills and 15 points, while Sarah Haupert had nine sets.
LCA, 3-5, competes in the Community Tournament in South Bend on Saturday.
GOLF
TV Finishes Eighth
At Culver, the Tippecanoe Valley girls' golf team placed eighth in Saturday's 12-team Culver Girls Academy Invitational. Rain shortened the match to nine holes.
Twin Lakes shot a 179 to win the tourney. Concordia was second with a 185, and Culver Girls Academy third with a 188. Tippecanoe Valley shot a 221.
Kara Tucker shot a 50 to lead Valley. Brend Rose and Mary Gast each shot a 56. Kelly Montelongo shot a 59, and Wendy Tilden a 61. Tilden's score was dropped from the team total.
Valley hosts a 4:30 p.m. Tuesday match with Whitko at Mill Creek Golf Course in Rochester.

Warsaw's tennis team hosted and lost to LaPorte on Saturday.
Picking up wins for Warsaw were No. 1 singles player Craig Harman and No. 2 singles player Ryan Van Puffelen.
Warsaw lost the junior varsity match 4-1. Matt Kloser and Ryan Kreager defeated Matt Presley and Ben Konowitz 8-5 for Warsaw's only win. The junior varsity Tigers are 2-3.
The varsity Tigers, 2-3, have a 4:30 p.m. match at Northridge on Tuesday.

At North Manchester, Tippecanoe Valley's junior varsity football team upped its record to 2-0 with a Saturday win over Manchester.
Eric Prater rushed for 79 yards and scored a touchdown, while Mike McNeal rushed for 44 yards and scored two touchdowns. Luke Gibson led the Valley defense with an interception that he returned for a touchdown.
Garrett Shelton and R.J. Hutchison were on the receiving end of two-point pass conversions. Nathan Moore kicked two extra points. David Reese had 18 tackle points.
Valley hosts a 6:30 game with Southwood next Monday.
