KENDALLVILLE - Warren Richard Campbell, 78, of Winona Lake, died Sept. 23, 2010, in his residence.

He was born Aug. 1, 1932, in South Bend, to Roy and Mary Piety Campbell. In 1957, in Kaufbeuren, Germany, he married Annelies Krause, who survives.

He graduated from Green Township High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in California and Germany. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Ball State University. He was an educator in Ohio and Indiana and in 1996 retired from the Indiana State Employment Office. During his retirement years he worked part-time for Enterprise Car Rental Co. He enjoyed music, traveling, gardening, camping and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a lifetime member of Warsaw Church of Christ where he served as an elder. He was involved in several organizations including the Warsaw Lion's Club.

Also surviving are three daughters: Yvonne (and spouse Andy) Strack, Kendallville; Ingrid Campbell, Shawnee, Kan.; and Heidi (and spouse Eric Younger) Campbell, Ketchum, Idaho; seven grandchildren: Andrew, Christian, Anthony and Evan, all of Kendallville; Jackson Burnett, Shawnee; and Kai and Zacharty, both of Ketchum; a sister, Marilyn Bolinger, South Bend; a brother-in-law, Dean Hoggatt, LaGrange; and two sisters-in-law, Traudel Schon and Marie Krause, Germany. He was preceded in death by a his parents; a sister, Thelma Campbell Hoggatt; and three brothers-in-law, Georg Schon, Josel Krause and Corbin Bolinger.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Warsaw Church of Christ, at the corner of Lincoln and Main streets.

Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville, is in charge of arrangements.
