Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Claypool man Friday afternoon in Silver Lake who was connected to the arrest of two others Thursday night. Thomas Edward Skeens, 43, Claypool, was arrested shortly after 5 p.m. in Silver Lake after eluding law enforcement for 24 hours. KCSD deputies and the Drug Task Force had been attempting to locate Skeens since Thursday evening on two separate warrants for misdemeanor battery and felony possession of precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine. Additional charges of fleeing/eluding law enforcement could possibly be issued from Miami County. An anonymous tip led KCSD deputies and an Indiana State Trooper to apprehend Skeens near the intersection of Main and Columbia streets in Silver Lake after fleeing from a business. Skeens was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Kosciusko County Jail where he is currently being held on a prosecutorial hold. Skeens is connected to the Thursday night incident where KCSD deputies and DTF officers went to 5790 S. Maple Grove Lane, Warsaw, in an attempt to locate Skeens and Gregory Price Scott, 48, Warsaw, on active warrants. Prior to the officers’ arrival, Skeens had left the area, but officers located Scott and a female identified as Carrie Ann Faas-Sechrist, 40, South Whitley. Faas-Sechrist was found to have an outstanding failure to appear warrant from Kosciusko County on the original charge of possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Scott was arrested on the Whitley County warrant for nonsupport of a dependent/child. DTF officers also located finished methamphetamine on Scott, who was subsequently also charged with dealing/manufacturing methamphetamine. Kosciusko officers were provided information Friday that led to the Miami-Wabash County Line Road just south of the community of Disko, in Fulton County, off of Ind. 114. Skeens’ vehicle was stuck in high water and was visible as officers approached the scene. Skeens fled the vehicle on foot, headed west through a field and a wooded area. Miami County Sheriff’s Department took control of the scene with assistance from the ISP Peru Post, who then established a perimeter with K9 units. ISP terminated the search when they were unable to locate Skeens. Scott’s bond is currently set at $10,000 with a no bond hold from Whitley County. Faas-Sechrist’s bond is currently set at $25,000.
