Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
Cassidy Ward, 4, Milford, daughter of Tara Manning and Justin Ward, charmed the judges with her manners and smile Tuesday during the 2002 Mr. and Miss Pre-School of Kosciusko County contest.
She was selected from a field of 28 other 3- to 4-year-old girls just as darling.
The contest, designed to give young children an opportunity to appear in public before an audience, is hoped to boost the kids' self-confidence and self-esteem.
The activity tent was packed with parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles for the event.
The contest was hosted by Brian Walsh, who patiently bends over to address each and every tyke. They answer simple questions, like what their favorite food is, give their sister's name and wave to mommy and daddy in the audience.
Chosen first runner-up Miss Pre-School was Danielle Glunt, 4, daughter of Angi and Vince Glunt, Pierceton. Sabel Long, 3, daughter of Betsy Zarazuma, Etna Green, was second runner-up.
