Editor, Times-Union:

It is an honor and privilege to be able to write this letter to the good people of Kosciusko County, to clarify my desire to continue serving and representing them as commissioner.

I am blessed to be married to the most wonderful woman in the world (Sue) for 38 years, who supports my being commissioner. We have three adult children, Nathan, who works for Lake City Bank; Amanda, who teaches currently at Washington Elementary; and Nelson, who is a barber with me at both Warsaw and Mentone barbershops.

My pledge to you is that I will continue to bring the years of life experience and positive business practices to represent the interest of the citizens of Kosciusko County, making the tough decisions it takes to remain one of the most fiscally conservative counties in the state of Indiana. I will continue to work with the sheriff, auditor and treasurer as well as all of the members of county government, to stay in the vanguard of economic development, to retain business and recruit new business in order to move forward with opportunities for our residents.

I have discovered that there are aspects of county government that only the combination of solid business experience along with dialogue and interaction with those being represented can enable commissioners to make decisions that are supported by the people who are most directly affected. Again, I pledge that I will continue to make myself available to the people of our county, in order to assist them and answer their questions, keeping myself attuned to the needs, desires and concerns of those I represent.

My entire adult life has been spent in Kosciusko County and I have been involved with my community as a businessman, a reserve sheriff's deputy and through various offices in my church. I believe that we deserve only the community for which we are willing to commit our time and effort to improve. As a property owner who pays residential and commercial property taxes, I understand that these are real and tangible dollars that we are entrusting to the care of our county government officials, and I believe we can and should expect a clear accounting of and true representation of our interests.

I encourage you to examine my past service as a commissioner, and trust that you will conclude that I don't have an agenda only a heart for service. With this I ask for you support, and vote on Tuesday May 4th.

Thank you.

Robert M. (Bob) Conley
