NAPPANEE - Waneta J. Young, 81, of 1051 E. Marion St., Nappanee, died at 7 a.m. May 10, 2008, at Bremen Health Care.
She was born May 31, 1926, in Elkhart County, to Jesse Clifford and Bernetha Hunt Parcell. In 1943, she married Harold C. Young, who preceded her in death in 2005.
A lifetime area resident and homemaker, she was a member of Nappanee and then Bremen Veterans of Foreign Wars, Nappanee American Legion Auxiliaries and Wiskerville Truckers, Nappanee. She attended Bremen Assembly of God.
Surviving are eight daughters: Donna (and spouse Lowell) Price, Plymouth; Betty Bowling, Nappanee; Carol (and spouse Keenan) Wynn, South Bend; Mary L. (and spouse Bowling Jr.) Nethercutt, Mishawaka; Karen (and spouse Roy) Bowling, Plymouth; Nancy Morris, Goshen; Patty (and spouse Ron) Yeutsey, LaGrange; and Jessie Choquette, Elkhart; five sons: Ralph (and spouse Mary) Young, Lapaz; Clifford (and spouse Jacque) Young, Tippecanoe; Roger Young, Nappanee; Donald (and spouse Tabitha) Young, Plymouth; and Rich Young-Nusbaum, South Bend; 39 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three sisters and five brothers.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with Pastor Steve Resner officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
