COLUMBIA CITY - Wanda J. Faucett, 68, of Columbia City, died at 5:18 p.m. Sept. 19, 2008, in her residence.
She was born Sept. 6, 1940, in Gary, to Doyle and Mildred Hathaway Baliff. On July 4, 1959, she married Barry L. Faucett, who survives.
In 1952, her family moved to Kirklin from East Gary. She graduated from Kirklin High School. Formerly of Indianapolis and the Westfield area, she moved to Martinsville, Va., in 1991, and to Columbia City in October 1994. She was a secretary at Green Center Elementary School for seven years and was a daycare administrator in Virginia. She was a member of New Hope Wesleyan Church, where her husband is pastor. She was ministry coordinator, creator and director of Hallelujah Praise the Lamb Easter drama and creator of Hand in Hand Women's Ministry. She also served on the Christian Education Board for Indiana North District of Wesleyan Church and co-director of the district's Married Couples Retreat. She was also assistant director of Camp Amigos.
Also surviving are five children: Tony (and spouse Lori) Faucett; Brandon (and spouse Laura) Faucett, Columbia City; Eric Faucett, Bourbon; and Traci Baar and Gina Faucett, both of Columbia City; 12 grandchildren; and a brother, Allen Baliff, Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Norma Wallace.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Hope Wesleyan Church, 971 N. CR 400W, Columbia City. Burial will be in South Park Annex Cemetery.
