Wanda Hand
FORT WAYNE- Wanda Hand, 86, slipped peacefully to be with her Lord April 15, 2011, at Heritage Point, Warren.
She was born in Warsaw to Ed and Leah Marie Griesinger, who preceded her in death. She worked as a dental assistant with Dr. Calvin Clark for more than 20 years. She married her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, Lee “Andy” Hand, who preceded her in death.
She and her husband loved to help people and both had a servant’s heart. She had a strong and unwavering faith in her Lord. She was very active in helping her church family through the years. She loved her family and cherished all her grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, Roger (and spouse Cheryl) Hand, Warsaw; two daughters, Karen (and spouse Mike) Roorbach, Marion, and Betty (and spouse Bill) Kahlenbeck, Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two sisters, Thelma Goering, Warsaw, and Mildred “Midge” Jensen, Milwaukee, Wis., and a brother, Charles Griesinger, Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jean Taylor; and a great-grandchild, Alyssa Nichole Rose.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, with Rev. Larry Maddox officiating.
Calling is one hour prior to services and from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
