Charles and Dawn Ware Walton, Avon Park Fla. and formerly of Mentone, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 31. They were married Oct. 31, 1953 at the Mentone Methodist Church by the Rev. David Gosser. The couple have nine children, including three sets of twins: Mike (and spouse Margaret), Jackie (and spouse Tim) Croy, Tina VanDusen, and twins Roger and Tony, Valerie Dittman and Vickie (and spouse Michael) Knarreborg; Joe and Matt. They have 30 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. An anniversary open house will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Mentone Fire Department, 201 W. Main St. The couple request no gifts.
