Walter E. Ruegner, 61, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Nov. 7, 2014, at his residence.
He was born April 26, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to William and Martha Stinebrenner Ruegner. On Jan. 11, 1975, in Akron, he married Sheryl L. Lytle, who survives in Warsaw.
He had been a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. He worked for United Telephone Service (Sprint) as an engineer, retiring 10 years ago. He also was employed by Lowe’s Home Improvement as a salesman selling appliances.
He was a member of Warsaw Church of God. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and geocaching (outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices).
Also surviving are a son, Shawn Ruegner, Leesburg; a daughter, Ceridwen Ruegner, Michigan City; and a sister, Barb (and spouse Steve) Graf, Grand Rapids, Mich. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Jerry Yoder officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
