Henry and Bessie Wallen, 209 Mineral Springs, Winona Lake, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary July 17, 2010.
Henry and the former Bessie Hall were married July 17, 1940, in Water Gap, Ky., to Albert Dickson.
He was a coal miner in Prestonsburg, Ky., before moving to Warsaw, where they both worked at Gatke.
The couple have four children: William Ray (and spouse Sally) Wallen, Panama City, Fla.; Donald (and spouse Marie) Wallen, Winona Lake; Henrietta Myers, Silver Lake; and Francis Wallen, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
