Hibernating bears look peaceful enough to pet. But if you are there when they wake, you might be their first meal. The voters awoke a sleeping bear called the Democrat Party and it's about to go on a rampage against those it considers its enemy.
The last time the Democrats controlled Congress, they voted for measures like giving mortgages for homes to people who couldn't pay for them, which crashed the economy in 2008. Congress also passed Obamacare, which didn't make health care affordable as promised. Democrats want to investigate Trump, Kavanaugh and others they think are enemies of the nation. Maxine Waters wants to go after the banks. I guess forcing them to accept bad loans and be over-regulated wasn't enough. And while they're trying to discover Russian collusion between Trump and Putin, they might as well investigate the existence of Santa Claus and the tooth fairy. Ironically, some of the most vocal protesters against Trump who oppose the wall to prevent so many invaders from coming into this nation and think there should be no borders in general are doing what the Russians and Chinese want.
Democrats are about to face a lot of problems that could bring Republicans back into power in 2020 if they mess up like they did in the past. If most of the investigations yield nothing and some people go to prison for lying, the Democrats who bring charges against Trump and others will look foolish. If some of their programs and policies make things worse, the voters will remember and throw the offenders out of office. Thank God the Senate is still controlled by Republicans to prevent a lot of the insanity from going further than that house.
If Pelosi is voted back into the speakership, those who claim they won't vote for her but do might not return to Congress in 2021. If Trump is in a better position to win re-election in 2020 due to Pelosi and the Democrats, Pelosi might be voted out by angry voters who will claim she didn't do her job to throw Trump out of the White House.
It's long past time when the dog whistle of racism that the left blows to try and train conservatives to be silent little puppies is disposed of. The attempt to eliminate the Electoral College should stop because most states will not surrender their ability to decide elections. If the will of 10 million sane people can stop the will of 12 million insane people from being honored, the nation will not fall into total chaos.
Reagan was able to appeal to the people over the heads of Congress. Trump is able to do that through his tweets and rallies. Hopefully he'll be tough enough to keep the Democrat bear from eating him alive.
